TEFAF New York 2022 at the Park Avenue Armory

The European Fine Art Foundation, TEFAF New York  show took place at the Park Avenue Armory, May 6–10, 2022. The art showcased ranged in styles, eras, cultures, and mediums and ccame from from 91 dealers representing 14 countries.

The exhibitors’ stands took over the entire Wade Thompson Drill Hall, extending on both the first and second floor of the Armory.

TEFAF New York also included a concurrent edition of TEFAF Online with a selection of the masterpieces on display at the Armory, alongside Programming, Stories and other content from the TEFAF community.

TEFAF New York also offered rich programming connecting the visitor with leading experts from the TEFAF global art community.

Visitors

The fair garnered sales across categories and clientele from across the globe, including representatives from roughly 60 leading museums and cultural institutions.

Sales

Among the most notable sales were White Cube’s sale of Park Seo-Bo’s Ecriture No. 51-79 (1979) for $1.3 million and additional works by Isamu Noguchi and Cy Twombly; Blum & Poe’s sale of several assemblages by Thornton Dial; David Zwirner’s sales from the Cartin Collection including works by Josef Albers, Sol LeWitt, and Bill Traylor; Charles Ede’s sales of more than a dozen Roman antiquities from 1st century BC to 2nd century AD; Perrotin’s sale of two works by Anna-Eva Bergman to institutions; Hostler Burrows’ mix of sales across both its contemporary and vintage pieces; and Donald Ellis Gallery record sale of a Plains Ledger drawing.
