Frieze Comes to NY Randall’s Island

Frieze New York Art Fair comes to Randall’s Island Park from May 1 – 5, 2019. Leading galleries from 26 countries, will showcase works ranging from today’s emerging artists to seminal figures of the 20th century.

The fair will also features themed sections and exhibitions exploring virtual reality, self-taught artists, Latin American art and New York’s pioneering gallery community.

Frame also returns with emerging international galleries presenting solo projects, and Spotlight with solo shows of 20th-century pioneers ranging from Alex Katz to Elvira Bach and Paul Nash.

This year’s fair also includes increased participation from galleries across Asia with new additions from Taipei, Kolkata and Seoul.

As a lead up to the show, the fair launches Frieze Sculpture at the Rockefeller Center. This is Rockefeller Center’s largest display of artwork to date creating a major public art initiative, with free admission to all. The launch of Frieze Sculpture on April 25 in New York follows its establishment in London’s Regent’s Park, where a free summer display of sculptures and installations welcomes millions of visitors. The sculpture show is on view through June 28, 2019

Randall’s Island Park is located on the East River between Manhattan, Queens, and the Bronx. Access to the show is with dedicated ferry services, valet, and general parking. It is also accessible via the M35 bus, which is a quick ride from 125th Street in Harlem (and an easy transfer from the 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, B, D, A, and C trains, as well as the Metro North commuter rail).
