Salute to Vienna ushers in New Year 2018

Salute to Vienna New Year’s Concert has been a New York City tradition for the past 22 years. This year’s concert takes place on Monday, January 1, 2018 at 2:30 p.m at David Geffen Hall in Lincoln Center.

Inspired by Vienna’s popular New Year’s Concert, the annual celebration features acclaimed European singers, dancers and a full orchestra.

Viennese conductor Bernhard Schneider will conduct The Strauss Symphony of America. Viennese soprano Micaela Oesta, tenor Tilmann Unger, and members of the Kiev-Aniko Ballet of Ukraine will be featured along with the International Champion Ballroom Dancers in this annual champagne toast to the New Year.

Salute to Vienna New Year’s Concert presents a new show every year with a fresh cast and timeless music. The program features Strauss waltzes, including the Blue Danube, polkas from Vienna’s golden age, and music from the Merry Widow, Die Fledermaus and Gypsy Princess.
