The Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater (AAADT) returns to its home stage at New York City Center for an inspiring five-week holiday engagement from December 4, 2024, to January 5, 2025. This season honors the life and contributions of Artistic Director Emerita Judith Jamison, with performances celebrating the company’s rich history while embracing innovation.

Highlights of the 2024 Season

• Opening Night Gala: On December 4, AAADT will honor legendary dance educator Jody Gottfried Arnhold. The gala features the 25th-anniversary revival of Ronald K.   • Al-Andalus Blues by Jamar Roberts reflects the cultural legacy of the Moors in Iberia, set to music by Roberta Flack and Miles Davis.

    

  • Finding Free by Hope Boykin, in collaboration with jazz and gospel pianist Matthew Whitaker, explores personal liberation. Live performances: December 13–14.

    

  • Many Angels by Lar Lubovitch uses Mahler’s music for a dance celebrating beauty for its own sake.
  • Sacred Songs by Matthew Rushing reimagines spirituals from the original Revelations. Live performances: December 20 and 22.
