New York City Ballet’s 2024 Winter Season at Lincoln Center

The enchanting world of the New York City Ballet‘s 2024 Winter Season took place from January 23 to March 3, showcasing a captivating exploration of the company’s illustrious repertoire, featuring 23 curated works by choreographers intimately connected to the NYCB.

The Winter Season commenced on January 23, paying homage to the Co-Founding Choreographer Jerome Robbins. The opening night showcased iconic works such as Fancy Free, In the Night, and The Four Seasons, offering a glimpse into the timeless artistry of the New York City Ballet.

Over the course of six weeks, the Winter Season followed the evolution of NYCB’s repertoire. It featured a diversity of creations, including World Premiere Ballets by NYCB Principal Dancer Tiler Peck and Artist in Residence Alexei Ratmansky.

The second week of the Winter Season presented a double treat with Tiler Peck’s debut choreography, set to the captivating melodies of Francis Poulenc. Simultaneously, Alexei Ratmansky unveiled his first work for NYCB since becoming Artist in Residence, featuring the evocative sounds of Gustav Mahler.

The Winter Season also featured an impressive array of works by George Balanchine and Jerome Robbins. From Ballo della Regina to The Four Temperaments, each performance served as a testament to the company’s artistic excellence.

Notable highlights included Justin Peck’s Copland Dance Episodes, Peter Martins’ Hallelujah Junction, and a revival of Christopher Wheeldon’s Carnival of the Animals, featuring acclaimed actor Terrence Mann as the Narrator.
