The New York Botanical Garden (NYBG) presented its popular orchid exhibition for its 21st year, sshowcasing an extraordinary fusion of fashion and flora. From February 17 through April 21, 2024, visitors were transported into a realm where orchids took center stage in a breathtaking display inspired by the world of high fashion.

Guests were captivated by the convergence of thousands of orchids and accompanying botanical wonders, set amidst striking fashion-themed installations. This year’s exhibition showcased the imaginative designs of three rising stars in the fashion world:

Hilary Taymour, the visionary founder and creative director of Collina Strada, brought her ethos of climate and social awareness to the forefront through fashion.

Olivia Cheng, the innovative designer behind Dauphinette, mesmerized with her use of preserved botanicals and repurposed materials, crafting unique upcycled creations.

Kristen Alpaugh of FLWR PSTL, renowned botanical artist and creative director at Haus of Stems, presented her experimental botanical artwork and custom wearables, pushing the boundaries of botanical expression.

Visitors were invited to step onto the metaphorical catwalk in the Enid A. Haupt Conservatory, embodying their personal style, love for orchids, and connection to the natural world. This season’s exhibition delivered an unforgettable experience where the worlds of fashion and botany collided in an explosion of creativity and beauty.
