Demarchelier Bistro is a casual French restaurant at 471 Main Street in Greenport, a charming seaside village on Long Island’s North Fork. The bistro is owned by Emily Demarchelier, whose family run a restaurant on Madison Avenue at 86th Street for over 40 years.
The restaurant has the looks and feel of a Parisian bistro, bright and comfortable, with casual chairs, round marble top tables, Casablanca ceiling fans, and soothing French music. The walls are decorated with colorful, original paintings by known artist Eric Demarchelier. (Emily’s father).
The classic French menu features escargots, daily quiches, charcuterie, cheeses, salads, and entrees like steak tartare, and duck confit.
Start your meal with a fresh Gazpacho (soup of the day) or the flavorful onion soup. Then, try the melt-in-your-mouth osso bucco with risotto, or the lamb shank in wine sauce. A side of polenta cakes topped with mushrooms and drizzled with truffle oil is the perfect accompaniment for the hearty main dishes.
For dessert, order the classic tart tatin or their lava cake.
The bistro also offers lunch sandwiches, raw bar selections, a variety of cocktails, and French wines.
