The Casal Thaulero winery from the Abruzzo region in Italy recently presented a wine and food pairing at the Il Gattopardo restaurant in midtown Manhattan. They featured a Borgo Thaulero Pecorino, three Thalé Trebbiano and two Montepulciano. Most journalists agreed that their favorite was the Thalé Trebbiano 2007. Its characteristics are a deep yellow color, a fruity bouquet with notes of pear and cedar and a savory taste with a floral sensation. It pairs perfectly with seafood and fish based dishes.
