Escape to the Eau Palm Beach Resort and Spa

Eau Palm Beach Resort and Spa is a luxurious AAA Five Diamond, Forbes Five Star property located on seven beachfront acres on Palm Beach Island. Once a Ritz Carlton hotel, the complex was reimagined, renovated, and reborn as the magnificent resort Eau.

First Impressions

As your car pulls into the grand ochre-colored porte-cochère, you are greeted by porters and valets who promptly whisk away your luggage and car. At the reception desk, a clerk welcomes you with a chilled glass of Prosecco.

The opulent lobby is decorated with huge crystal chandeliers, elegant furniture and beautiful art. The rear glass doors of the lobby lead to an oceanfront terrace overlooking the huge free-form pool.

The pool deck is lined with sun beds padded with thick, white and navy striped cushions. Tall palm trees sway in the gentle breeze, as pool attendants pass suntan lotion and serve shots of virgin frozen daiquiri. Yellow umbrellas and dark-blue cabanas add a splash of color to the strip of sandy beach, just below the pool level. Nestled away from the main area, you’ll find another tranquil pool for adults.

Accommodations

The resort offers 309 beautiful guest rooms and suites lavishly decorated by New York designer Jonathan Adler. Our room, #240, is airy and spacious, highlighted with blue and white hues evoking the sea and sky. It is tastefully appointed with oval mirrors, a padded headboard and elegant furniture. The luxurious white marble bath features a glass-enclosed shower, separate WC, a soaking tub and a double sink. On the terrace, an inviting egg-shaped swing overlooks a quiet pool and the ocean.

Dining

There are several dining options on the property, but make sure to experience the breakfast buffet at Temple Orange restaurant. It offers a large selection of seafood, small plates with Mediterranean delicacies, and traditional American fare.

For dinner, treat yourself to Angle, the resort’s fine dining restaurant. The seasonal menu offers farm to table dishes using mostly regional ingredients. Try the seared tuna, the delicious seafood cioppino and the filet mignon served with foie gras. Ask the sommelier for a fine wine or if you prefer, ask the cicerone for a craft beer to pair with your meal. For dessert, the signature “Candy Bar” is a must.

Spa

The Eau Spa is a 45,000 SF, Forbes Five Star sanctuary, very popular with hotel guests and local residents alike. On the entrance’s floor you’ll notice the projection of a big clock, its two hands moving rapidly backward. It is the spa’s intention not merely to stop time in its tracks, but to roll it back by rejuvenating you.

Your spa experience begins with a glass of champagne and by making a personal wish and placing a floating candle in the spa’s wishing well.

You are escorted to the locker area where you can enjoy amenities from steam showers to a large whirlpool under a cascading rain shower. On the bottom of the whirlpool you’ll feel boulders and rocks that recreate a true waterfall experience.

Try the spa’s signature massage, a treatment designed to stimulate all five senses: it begins with a taste of a teaspoon of honey followed by your selection of personal music, preferred lighting and scented massage oil. The massage is a blissful experience with hot stones, pressure points and soothing strokes. After the treatment, relax with a glass of herbal tea and munch on one of the freshly made cupcakes. You can also unwind in the Self Centered Garden on a cushy chaise or cradled in a cocoon swing suspended over shallow water.

Activities

If you want to enjoy more activities than surf, sun and spa, Eau offers plenty, including a fitness center, a yoga studio, Pilates, personal training, tennis courts, aquatic sports and children’s programs.

You can also take a short drive to Worth Avenue in Palm Beach for some serious retail therapy, or head to Atlantic Avenue in Delray Beach for small town ambience and bar hopping.

However, when you are at a Five Star, Five Diamond property such as Eau, you should try to experience everything it has to offer, cherish every single moment and make new memories.
