On March 25, 2019 a “Pop Up Trade Tasting” featuring the wines of Bordeaux took place in Jersey City at the Liberty Steak House.

Wine merchants, sommeliers and members of the press had a chance to sample a selection of vintages from the Bordeaux region.

Bordeaux is located in Southwest France on the Atlantic coast extending along the Gironde Estuary and its Garonne and Dordogne tributaries. The region’s maritime climate is influenced by the warm Gulf Stream that protects the area against frost damage.

Bordeaux produces all styles of wines including reds, dry whites, semi-sweet and sweet rosés, clarets and sparklings.

Some of the wines we liked included the 2011 L’Ecrin de Marquis de Terme, the 2015 Légende Saint-Émilion, and the 2015 Chateau Phelan Ségur, Saint-Estephe

The event also featured a presentation by the Bordeaux Wine School that included a blind tasting seminar and the introduction of the OenoBordeau app.
