A New Production of Tosca at the Met

The highly acclaimed new production of Tosca by Puccini premiered on New Year’s Eve at the Metropolitan Opera House at New York City’s Lincoln Center.

Produced by Sir David McVicar, the opera showcases an outstanding cast lead by charismatic Sonya Yoncheva as Tosca and an exuberant Vittorio Grigolo as Cavaradossi, her lover. Željko Lučić plays the sinister role of Scarpia, the villain chief of police.

The stunning sets and costumes by John MacFarlane transport the enthralled audience to Rome in the year 1800.

Puccini’s sweeping music and show stopping arias are masterfully highlighted in this, standing ovations production. The current cast performs thru January 27, 2018.
